CMC offers hot-melt asphaltic cavity lining that is certified to meet military specification MIL-C-3301C and bituminous coating per MIL-C-450C. These processes use a hot-melt asphaltic compound or bituminous coating to line the inner walls of metal cases prior to filing with explosives.
This procedure is currently used by our larger military customers to line the inside of certain warheads like JASSM cruise missiles and small diameter bombs (SDBs) and can be followed by or preceded with the application of other organic coatings.
