CMC offers a seven stage immersion zinc phosphate line with two levels of coverage. Basket, barrel and specialty racking capabilities are available to accommodate large and small parts and quantities. We have utilized a national chemical supplier for 30 years to ensure maximum product quality.
All zinc phosphate finishes can be varied for job specific requirements, and salt spray testing is available weekly with an independent, outside firm. CMC offers two zinc phosphate coverage options:
1. Microcrystalline or light grain zinc phosphate yields a coating weight between 300-500 micrograms per square foot. This allows for the removal of surface deposits (oil and light rust) and produces an extremely versatile coating, ideally suited as a pretreatment for painted parts. This line is permanently certified to meet TT-C-490 specification and further job specific certifications are available upon request.
2. Macrocrystalline or heavy grain zinc phosphate yields a coating weight around 2,000 micrograms per square foot. This coating produces a much heavier build that is ideally suited as a base for water soluble oil as a treatment for corrosion protection.
